Located in the heart of The Village, Village Yoga offers an energetic practice based in Iyengar and Vinyasa Methods with a strong focus on alignment, stamina, strength and flexibility. Come and experience your full capacity through sometimes details studies, sometimes flowing sequences to deepen your practice and self-awareness in a focused yet fun atmosphere. The groups are small giving more attention to each individual's needs. We often work in partners to deepen our understanding of the workings of the postures, creating connections with others as well as ourselves. Our bright loft space is a 700 cozy sq.feet just steps away from Beaudry Metro making it an easy destination no matter where you hail from. The classes are offered on a drop-in basis making it easy to fit yoga into your life. Simply arrive 15 minutes before the class that is appropriate for you, choosing from beginner or intermediate, and leave the rest to us. |

David Flewelling
David Flewelling CYT, E-RYT is the owner of Village Yoga and has a profound knowledge of body mechanics. After receiving his BA from the School of Contemporary Arts from Simon Fraser University, David moved to Montreal from Vancouver, where he had been creating and choreographing dance pieces for over ten years. He started practicing Yoga in 1994 and started teaching in 1998. He has received Advanced Teacher Training and is currently studying Yoga Therapeutics with internationally renown Master Teacher Trainer, Hart Lazar, to deepen his own practice and teachings in the Iyengar and Vinyasa based techniques. In addition to yoga, David has trained in Stott Pilates Reformer, an apparatus that uses resistance to create long lean muscles. A professional contemporary dancer, a dynamic and knowledgeable yoga and Pilates teacher, David’s knowledge and experience comes together to provide a deep and dynamic practice that will have you discovering the deeper layers of your body.

Sonia Osorio
Sonia Osorio, BA, RMT, CYT, DHom (in progress) - is a certified massage therapist and yoga instructor with a background in natural health care, dance and journalism. She also facilitates workshops in yoga, meditation and somatic approaches to working with the body. She has complete advanced trainings in Ashtanga and Iyengar-based yoga, had has worked with senor teachers in these traditions. Sonia has studied mindfulness practices with Thich Naht Hanh, and continues to deepen her exploration in Buddhist practice under the guidance of Ken McLeod. She also contributes to various health care publications as both a writer and editor, and is currently working on her Master's degree in homeopathic medicine. Her work and practice are continual reminders of our capacity to move through life with pleasure and joy, and her commitment is to support health, balance and well-being in all areas of one's life. Sonia offer workshops in yoga, massage and meditation through Zensations.
